In partnership with the Guides, the woods at Haverings Guide Centre came alive after dark — fairy villages, glowing displays, and more than 550 visitors walking a trail made entirely by young people.
For one Friday night, the trees at Haverings Guide Centre lit up. Working in partnership with the local Guides, Scouts across the district turned the woodland into an enchanted forest of illuminated fairy villages and glowing displays — and more than 550 people came to walk the trail.
It was a true community effort. The Guides served hot drinks, cakes and s’more kits inside, while Riparian ran hot food, cold drinks and a tuck shop outside, and section after section — Scouts, Cubs, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows from across Luton — contributed the displays that made the night glow.
The comments from those who came said it all. Preparations had been weeks in the making, ideas slowly turning into something real — and on the night, it shone.
